Pugilist turns TV Philanthropist? Manny Pacquiao rises again

LAST night I was surprised to see Manny Pacquiao back on the TV screens but not in his boxing form but as someone who listens to individuals with difficulties in life and giving his ten-cent worth of advise.

The show on GMA-7 is called Para Sa ?Yo Ang Laban Na Ito, according to the people behind it, is meant to inspire the audience to act positively and make life-changing decisions.

I am told that it is GMA?s first self-help drama, whatever that means. And it airs every Sunday, the pilot of which was aired last night.

In the episode Manny shared stories of his own personal challenges and how he survived them with life-changing decisions. The show allowed the public an access to Manny?s secrets to success.

As complement to Manny?s life anecdotes, the show shared two other stories of ordinary individuals.

Jean Garcia as co-host, one person who has made life-changing decisions as well that made her a woman of character and courage.

The pilot episode, Para Sa ?Yo featured two mothers who were abandoned by their husbands and were left to raise their children alone. Manny grew up in the same situation. Do I want to hear what Manny will tell the individuals who will share their experiences in the show, Sundays on GMA-7?

Why not? After all, Manny Pacquiao, a boxer who amassed millions of pesos that turned his life around, from nothing to being a world-famous athlete and congressman representing Saranggani province. Certainly, he has something to share with everyone, including those who think they are far superior to this humble guy from General Santos City.
