The movie “Pacquiao,” the filmbio of boxing champ Manny Pacquiao which FLT Films International is producing in cooperation with Star Cinema and Manny himself, has started filming its principal photography. Last Wednesday, director Joel Lamangan was supposed to shoot in a small boxing gym in Malabon.
Major scenes for the much-awaited movie will also be filmed in General Santos City, other parts of the country and in the US, in particular, Los Angeles where he trained and in Las Vegas where he fought Erik Morales for the second time and won.
Jericho Rosales plays the role of Pacquiao while Bea Alonzo plays Pacquiao?s wife Jinky. Rudy Fernandez will also play a key role in the movie, as Pacquiao?s trainer and we hope Rudy will be well enough soon to shoot his scenes. At this writing, the action star is still recuperating from a recent operation at the Cardinal Santos Memorial Hospital.
We heard Jericho has not started filming his scenes yet because of his various commitments. He is still currently taping for the second series of “Panday” which starts airing next month. But he has to make himself available for shooting “Pacquiao” soon because they already have a playdate for the movie: May 31. By the way, Jiro Manio will play the young Manny Pacquiao, while Jaclyn Jose will portray Manny?s mother Dionisia.
In between shootings and tapings, Jericho also finds time to promote his own line of Jericho Fragrances by Natasha (Jericho Body Spray, which is available in three variants: Pipe Line, Fin Throw and Reef Break; and Jericho Eau de Cologne, also in three variants: Apex, Torque and Turbo Charge). Last Saturday (March 25), Jericho attended Natasha?s special event at SM Megamall Cinema 2 billed as “An Afternoon with Jericho Rosales.” Aside from witnessing the raffle draw, Jericho also serenaded the audience with a mini-concert. Natasha gave away 10 all-expenses paid adventure trip for two to Boracay. Jericho himself chose from among five lady contestants (through some sort of a game and question-and-answer session where they couldn?t see each other) his “date” in the trip to Boracay.
To complement their thrust in promoting personal care products, Natasha launched its new Jericho Fragrance line last January, the highlight of which is the “Summer Adventure in Boracay” promo held last Saturday.
Natasha, one of the leading direct-selling companies in the Philippines, is a successful Filipino-owned corporation in a business dominated by multinational corporations. Natasha?s growth has always been very steady in the 13 years that the company has been in a business despite the adverse economic conditions.
Natasha carries shoes, apparel, personal care products and accessories, most of them manufactured locally. Fashion companies source their products abroad because of the lower prices they believe they can get. Natasha, on the other hand, works intensively with local suppliers, enabling them to manufacture products at competitive prices, according to Warren Sy, in charge of marketing who added that Natash?a distribution network is made up of dealers actively selling their products all over the country, and making their dreams come true.
