Amazingly, Marco Antonio Barrera has thrown down the challenge to the man of the hour, Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao in a rematch that he apparently didn’t want until now. With the “Pacman’s” schedule full for quite some time with bouts against Oscar Larios and Erik Morales in the wings, this challenge by MAB seems to be a scheme to keep his name in the headlines and not a legitimate challenge. I have a hard time believing that this is a match that Barrera wants considering the one-sided beating that he received in their initial bout and the Pay Per View attraction that he has become. He can go on forever fighting the Mzonke Fana’s and Kevin Kelly’s of the world and apparently people still rent these horrible pay per views…so, he’s making money and I don’t think that he’s going to agree to another beating just to put a few more bills in his pocket. He can go on forever fighting these sub-par challengers and live happily ever after without facing Pacquiao again.
