Amir Khan took the first step to rebuilding his career with a stoppage win over Carlos Molina in Los Angeles.
The 26-year-old, who had lost successive fights to Lamont Peterson and Danny Garcia, was a class apart from the first bell and, having opened a cut around Molina’s left eye, forced the Mexican-American to retire on his stool after the 10th round.
Khan, who was fighting under the tutelage of new trainer Virgil Hunter for the first time, will now hope to fight for another world title next year.
