The boxing world lost one of the nicest guys in our sport. Emanuel Steward impacted many lives in boxing. I caught up with a few people that all boxing fans have heard of, and got their thoughts on the passing of Manny Steward.
I have to say, his passing has really impacted a lot of people. James Toney was visibly shaken up when I was speaking with him. It’s no surprise that some of the biggest names in the sport wanted to share some thoughts.
?I’m sad to hear about Emanuel. He was a huge part of boxing in all aspects, and I am going to miss the voice of an all time great. RIP Emanuel, you gave us a lot in this field of boxing.?

?This messed me up man. I have known Emanuel since 1984, my whole boxing career. I have always admired the guy. He’s done a lot for boxing and for the city of Detroit. He surely will be missed. Me myself, I am shocked. The King is dead. I can’t believe this.?

?He is a legend in his own right. I had an opportunity to share a training camp with him and Lennox Lewis in The Poconos. It’s a sad day to hear that he is gone. I hope the people let everything he stood for in boxing, and for Detroit, stand.?

?He was one of the greatest trainers of our time. He was a great coach, great person and a great friend to talk to. I remember when I first met him in 1997, he was training Lennox Lewis. I was fighting for my first world title. He gave me great tips on how to be a champion. He taught me some tricks on how to throw the right hand. He was a great inspiration to everybody in the boxing world. He will truly be missed. It’s crazy how life can change so quickly. It’s like when Diego Corrales left us. He was here one minute, then he was gone. Emanuel will be missed.?

?He was one of the best there ever was. When you look at where Lennox Lewis’ career was before he met Emanuel, and look at his career after, it’s speaks for itself. The same thing with Wladimir Klitschko’s career. Look at it before he met Emanuel and look at it now. Hearns, and all of the other champions as well. Boxing will surely miss him.?
