Donaire (29-1 win-loss card with 18 knockouts) sees his upcoming bout on October 13 at Carson City, against the Japanese fighter, as a make-or-break thing.
?If you are a true fighter, you have to find fighters who can challenge you and who will put you at risk. I?m at risk against Nioshika. That?s all part of boxing put-ting yourself at risk of losing, getting hurt and risk of losing your life.?
Nioshika successful-ly defended his World Boxing Council super bantamweight belt in Las Vegas last year when he beat Rafael Marquez (41-7 card with 37 KOs) via unanimous decision.
Nioshika (39-4-3 with 24 KOs), who is also a southpaw like Donaire and Manny Pacquiao, also scored another win against Mexican Jhonny Gonzales last year.
Donaire said it?s hard to hit Nishioka because of the Japanese?s tremendous speed, power and great footwork.
