Filipino boxing sensation Manny Pacquiao said he’s interested in staging his next battle in the Philippines while also being the lead promoter, according to an interview with DZMM. Negotiations for his next bout with either Erik Morales or Marco Antonio Barrera have already taken place, said Pacquiao. If neither fight happens, Pacquiao intends to go after Oscar Larios or Javier Jauregui in May. Although Pacquiao’s victory over Morales last month earned him a reported $2 million, reports indicate he only took home $300,000 of it after taxes and other fees.
In related news, Joanna Bacosa, 24, claims Manny Pacquiao is the father of her son. She was accompanied by her lawyer when filing court charges for anti-violence against women and children against him. Bacosa is scheduled to hold a press conference later this week.
Meanwhile, San Miguel Corp, Southeast Asia’s biggest food and beverage company, is becoming a business partner with the Filipino boxing sensation Manny Pacquiao. “This agreement is in recognition of an excellent athlete who deserves recognition and reward for making our country proud and putting back the Philippines in the world map,” San Miguel president and COO Ramon S. Ang said in a statement to the Filipino press.
