Recently, Timothy Bradley went on the record and told the world that Manny Pacquiao was “scared” of him. I read fellow Examiner and my friend Dennis Guillermo’s article this morning on this subject, and couldn’t resist the urge to follow up on some things that he had pointed out. With the amount of punches that landed flush to Bradley’s head, perhaps this guy may have suffered some sort of brain injury. For someone to say that Pacquiao is “scared” to fight them there has to be some sort of head injury. If not that, I would have to attribute such foolish talk to ignorance.

Firstly, Timothy Bradley should be counting his lucky stars that the judges (for whatever reasons) sitting ringside decided to rip off the pound for pound king. The decision for Bradley to this day turns my stomach. It’s one of the worst decisions in many years.
For someone to be “scared” of another fighter, one would have had to put a beating on them that they wouldn’t soon forget. If anyone got their tail whooped that night, it was Bradley not Pacquiao. How in the world is Pacquiao “scared” to fight a guy that he beat up for 12 rounds? This has to be one of the most ridiculous comments that I have ever heard a prize fighter say. As Guillermo pointed out, the PPV numbers for this fight were not very good at all. This was not Manny’s fault. Pacquiao was basically the sole ticket seller for this fight. Bradley didn’t bring many fans to the arena.

Why should Bradley be afforded another opportunity against an all time great fighter that was robbed? I would much rather see Marquez get this shot. At least Marquez fought Manny to close battles in each fight. I would rather Miguel Cotto get his shot before Bradley as well. Cotto earned it by fighting Mayweather in a tough battle. Cotto did very good Vs. Mayweather showing that he can fight with the world’s elite fighters.
Bradley is a guy that I respect because of his service in the military, and because he puts on the gloves and fights. With that said, I do not respect his latest comments regarding Pacquiao. He needs to behave accordingly.
