Speaking from General Santos City, Manny Pacquiao is keenly awaiting the arrival of Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum there today so they can discuss what?s down the road for him.
While Arum is thinking of staging a fight for Pacquiao on Nov. 10 against one of these three guys ? Tim Bradley, Juan Manuel Marquez and Miguel Cotto ? the fighter sounds uninterested when contacted by the Bulletin on Thursday afternoon.
“He?s (Arum) is coming over here tomorrow,” said Pacquiao.
Arum arrived in Manila from Los Angeles early-Wednesday morning but Pacquiao had to make an emergency trip back to General Santos later in the evening, resulting in the last-minute cancellation of their meeting.
Asked about Arum?s plan to see him fight on Nov. 10, Pacquiao reiterated that nothing ? as in nothing ? has been agreed on involving him and the 80-year-old Top Rank big boss for a fight on the said date.
“Wala pa, wala pa (Nothing?s been set),” said Pacquiao over the phone.
Now that Floyd Mayweather is out of prison, after being released last week, ringsiders have started to talk about them finally facing off in the ring.
Fighting in November seems to be an idea that?s not high on Team Pacquiao these days given the fact that Mayweather is already out and has recently formed a new promotional group.
Fighting in November carries a lot of risks for Pacquiao and rumor has it that if a Mayweather showdown can be made for early-2013, Pacquiao might just junk the plan of fighting in November and focus for Mayweather next year.
