IN A RARE display of her singing prowess, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo gamely joined Manny Pacquiao in belting out “Para sa Iyo” (For You), the song written and sang by the boxing sensation before he left Manila for a rematch with Mexican Erik Morales in Las Vegas, Nevada. Holding the song?s lyrics and a copy of the compact disc personally given by Pacquiao, the President on Friday joined in singing the chorus before an ecstatic crowd in a welcome program for the staunch supporter of Arroyo at the Rajah Solaiman along Roxas Boulevard in Manila.
But that?s not all.
Arroyo also sang with singer Sarah Geronimo the theme song of reality game show Pinoy Big Brother — ?Pinoy Ako? (I?m a Filipino).
Pacquiao sent Morales to the canvas for the first time in his career and completed the victory when the referee stopped the fight with 2 minutes and 33 seconds still left in the 10th round on Saturday night in Las Vegas (Sunday in Manila).
He arrived in Manila at around 5 a.m. Friday and had glove-shaped chicken pies for his breakfast with the President in Malaca?ang.
