No personal chef for Mayweather in jail?

Points to ponder while wondering if Floyd Mayweather Jr. thought he was headed for an 87-day stay in a Las Vegas jail or the Las Vegas Hilton.

Money is reportedly acting like he’s gotten a worse deal than Manny Pacquiao in the Timothy Bradley fight. Mayweather says he’s not getting enough exercise, even though jail officials say he’s refused to exercise. Mayweather says he’s not getting enough to eat, even though jail officials say he’s refused to eat.

The guy can’t seem to get a break for attacking a former girlfriend while two of their kids watched.

It’s about time those evil higher-ups at the Clark County Detention Center treat Mayweather with a little respect. Where’s the personal chef? The day pass to Gold’s Gym?

You want to know what constituted a clown question? Jim Rome asking David Stern if the draft lottery was fixed.

I mean, I’m absolutely stunned the commissioner didn’t respond, “Oh yeah, of course it’s fixed. Yeah, we would risk every last drop of credibility this league has worked 66 years to accumulate so the Hornets can get the first pick.”

For the life of me, I can’t seem to keep track of all the diverse storylines in golf. Let’s see, Tiger Woods was the big story before, during and (likely) after the U.S. Open.

And I have a sneaky suspicion he’s going to be the story before, during and after the British Open next month.

Leading up to becoming the big story before, during and after the PGA Championship in August.

The Mets and their manager have done a lot of neat things this season. But appealing R.A. Dickey’s one-hitter wasn’t one of them.

Who knew better than the Mets ? especially Johan Santana ? that umpire calls can have a bearing, positive or negative, on no-hitters?

As Dickey said, the asterisk attached to his no-hitter would have been a lot bigger than the no-no itself had the appeal been ruled in his favor. We can’t start changing the outcomes of no-hitters based on judgment calls by umpires. Nobody had a bigger gripe than Armando Galarraga when a blown call cost him a perfect game two Junes ago. But even if that call had been overturned, it wouldn’t have felt right to me.

We must return to a time when human error ? whether by players, managers, coaches or umpires ? was allowed in sports.

My son’s name is Dillon and his last name, believe it or not, starts with a “G” ? but that doesn’t mean I’m a big fan of Dillon Gee these days.

You know what’s scary? That you might be sitting next to the guy at the game who hashtags “killyourself” in a Tweet to Jon Rauch after a bad appearance.

Or the ones booing Jason Bay walking off the field after suffering another concussion, apparently oblivious to the news flash that a single concussion, no less multiple ones, can have severe consequences.

Harold Lederman tells me Pacquiao and Mayweather will one day get into the ring together, probably next year, which means it’s going to happen.

I don’t really have a rooting interest in golf, only a rooting-against interest: Sergio Garcia.

So I think I get the part about Femen, a women’s rights group, protesting the Euro 2012 soccer tournament. I just haven’t figured out why they are doing it topless.

I’m assuming they just mixed up the Second Amendment to the Constitution a little bit, misunderstanding the right to bear arms for the right to bare arms. I’m sure it happens all the time.

I could swear I’ve read about closing arguments in the Clemens trial on at least six different occasions.

When did we start ending every phrase with “going forward?”

The Mets need to work on their bullpen going forward. The Yanks are going to be tough to beat going forward.

Does this mean we should mention the ’86 Mets winning the World Series “going backward?”

You mean Phil Jackson had no interest in working for James Dolan?

My, what that Wallenda dude will do for a Canadian cigar.

He caught some heat on Twitter for using a pole and a harness (at the insistence of ABC) to cross Niagara Falls, but heck, I feel a little cheated myself. I thought he was going to pole vault back across.

I had a feeling Manny Ramirez wouldn’t be able to crack that power-packed A’s lineup.

Weren’t Carlos Beltran’s knees a few dozen steps from shattering into tiny pieces when the Mets traded him 11 months ago?

Darn straight I’m getting excited that Ike Davis entered the weekend on the verge of crossing the Mendoza Line. Because he was hitting a buck 58 a week ago, and if Ike can keep his bat colliding with baseballs, these Mets will give us one more reason to watch through NFL training camp.

Tony Parker can fly by defenders like they are standing still but he can’t get enough distance from a nightclub brawl?

Come on, fellow boomers, tell me you didn’t think of “You Can Tune a Piano but You Can’t Tuna Fish,” at least once when REO Speedwagon did the post-game show at Citi Field the other night.

One of the first concerts I ever attended: REO, Foghat, Ted Nugent, Heart and a band called The Rockets at the Louisiana Superdome.

Yeah, I know, I’m old.

Guess I just “can’t fight this feeling” anymore, you know?
