TWO close aides of Manny Pacquiao yesterday disclosed plans to stage the next fight of the Filipino boxing icon right here.
But sorry to disappoint, it may not involve the so-called Big Three— Erik Morales, Marco Antonio Barrera and Juan Manuel Marquez.
Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach and promoter Gary Shaw both agree to the idea to have the next fight of the 27-year old punching machine be held in the Philippines in the aftermath of his sensational 10th round technical knockout win over Erik Morales last Sunday at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“I would love to do a fight with him in the Philippines,” said Shaw. “Can you imagine HBO (Home Box Office) going to the Philippines and doing a Manny fight there? It would be ultra-spectacular.

Pacquiao last fought in the country two years ago when he scored a fourth round demolition of Fahsan 3K Battery in a 12-round non-title bout held at The Fort.
First Gentleman Mike Arroyo, who was at ringside when the Filipino southpaw inflicted Morales the most severe beating in his legendary career, expressed his intention to hold any future Pacquiao fights in the country.
Mr. Arroyo added he already talked to Smart and PLDT top honcho Manny V. Pangilinan about the grandiose plan and the business tycoon has agreed to shoulder the expenses including the prize purse.
