Pacquiao Adds Bulk vs Bradley

LAS VEGAS ? Manny Pacquiao tipped the scales on Friday at 147 lbs, the biggest he has weighed in for a fight.

Although Pacquiao did not exceed the welterweight limit, fight aficionados could not help but wonder why considering that when he fought Antonio Margarito of Mexico in November 2010 and the limit set at 150 lbs, the Filipino scaled in at 144 lbs.

The heaviest Pacquiao has weighed prior to Friday?s weighin for Saturday night?s match with Tim Bradley was when he met Joshua Clottey of Ghana also in March 2010 at 145 ?.

When Pacquiao made his welter debut against Oscar dela Hoya in December 2008, he checked in at 142 lbs and he was 143 lbs (against Juan Manuel Marquez last November), 124 (against Shane Mosley in May 2011) and 144 (against Miguel Cotto November 2009).

Trainer Freddie Roach had said on the eve of the weighin that Pacquiao would come in at 145 lbs during the weighin and 147 or 148 lbs when he answers the bell.

Apparently, Pacquiao did not take it easy during the runup to the weighin.

When a couple of reporters paid a visit to his swanky suite on the 60th level of The Hotel in the morning of the weighin, he was seen chomping on chicken, noodles, fish, beef broth and a tiny serving of white rice.

Later in the evening, minutes after the weighin, Pacquiao ate a large serving and then downed another plate before hitting the sack.
