Shane Mosley looks to be officially retiring after illustrious career

According to our friend Lem Satterfield at RingTV.com, it appears that former three-division champion ?Sugar? Shane Mosley has decided to call an end to his glorious career after nineteen years as an active professional.

The 40-year old Mosley is coming off of a one-sided loss to WBC junior middleweight champion Saul Alvarez on May 5th in Las Vegas in a fight in which he was beaten to the punch all night long.

If he does call it a day, Mosley leaves with a 46-8-1 record with 39 knockouts while having faced the likes of Oscar De La Hoya, Winky Wright, Vernon Forrest, Fernando Vargas, Ricardo Mayorga, Antonio Margarito, Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao, and several others.

In his prime, Mosley possessed great speed of hand and foot and was a treat to watch because of his offensive explosiveness and capabilities.

The Pomona, California native is likely to dive further into the field of promoting and will also focus on the career of his son Shane Mosley Jr., an aspiring amateur.
