LAS VEGAS ? At the stare down this time, Cathedral City’s Timothy Bradley didn’t break as his angry scowl sent a message to Manny Pacquiao ? “I’m ready for war.”
At the racous weigh in on Friday inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena, the partisan Pacquiao kept chanting “Manny, Manny, Manny,” and booed when Bradley came onto the stage.
Bradley came in at 146 pounds for the WBO welterweight championship fight, while defending champion Pacquiao was at the 147-pound limit, a surprising twist.
At the press conferences announcing the fight, Pacquiao’s antics during stare downs back then got Bradley to crack and laugh. Pacquiao smiled during Friday’s stare down, but Bradley didn’t crack this time.
“I’m out to prove everyone wrong,” Bradley said in his interview with HBO’s Max Kellerman.
As for being the American fighter in an American arena getting booed against Pacquiao, a congressman from the Philippines, Bradley didn’t mind.
“It doesn’t matter getting booed,” Bradley said. “I’ve been here before. None of these people will be in the ring with Manny Pacquiao. It’s just me and him in the ring.”
