MANILA, Philippines ? Eight-division boxing champion Manny Pacquiao has decided he would rather watch the finale of hit talent show ?American Idol? to show his support for Filipino-Mexican-American singer Jessica Sanchez.
This was announced by celebrity doctor Vicki Belo on her Twitter account on Sunday. Belo is currently with Pacquiao in Los Angeles.
?My dream almost came true we had tickets to watch ‘American Idol’ with Manny. But Manny Pacquiao decided he?d rather go to the final performance since he thinks Jessica will win,? she tweeted.
Pacquiao was originally scheduled to support Sanchez in person but had to cancel his ?Idol? trip at the last minute.
Pacquiao, however, sent a message to Sanchez.
?My prayers are stronger than my presence. You must believe and have no doubt,? he said.
Sanchez is currently part of the show?s Top 3. She had a homecoming visit to her hometown Chula Vista, California over the weekend.
On Wednesday (Thursday morning in Manila), Sanchez, Joshua Ledet and Phillip Phillips will be performing three songs ? judges? choice, Jimmy Iovine?s choice and their own choice.
The two finalists who will be moving on to the finale will be announced on Thursday (Friday morning in Manila).
