N. Mindanao revels in Pacman’s win

TUBOD, Lanao del Norte — Both Muslim and Christian communities in Northern Mindanao voiced their jubilation over the knockout victory of Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao over Erik “El Terible” Morales in the 10th round.

Everybody’s eyes and ears were glued on television and radio sets as people witnessed the blow by blow account in Las Vegas as described by Camarines Sur 3rd District Representative Arnulfo Fuentebella through Bombo Radyo Philipines.

Fuentebella was at the ringside in Las Vegas along with several government officials watching the non-title fight.

Only a few have beaten for Morales though Manny Pacquiao was the underdog in the first three rounds.

In a live coverage over Bombo Radyo Philippines, Mr. and Mrs Dionecia and Rosario Paquiao in General Santos City can hardly describe their mixed feelings and emotions upon learning on radio and television that their son Manny Paquiao won the fight against Morales.

In a live statement over Bombo Radyo Mrs. Dionecia Paquiao said, “We are thankful to God for listening to our prayers that Manny win in his fight.”

In the early stage of the bout, Manny’s father Rosario Paquiao expressed confidence in a radio interview that Manny will win the fight for the Filipino.

Manny Pacquiao is the second child of four children of Rosario and Dionecia Paquiao.

Lanao del Norte Governor Imelda Quibranza-Dimaporo, a boxing enthusiast lauded Manny Pacquiao, saying his victory is for the country and the Filipinos.

Earlier Misamis Oriental Governor Oscar Moreno also wished Pacquiao good luck in his match against Morales saying the General Santos-born boxer’s victory would serve as an inspiration for other aspiring Filipino boxers.
