As promised a special edition mailbag for Manny Pacquiao Vs Erik Morales from global fans everywhere. And since we’re all closing in on January 21st, the much anticipated war has everyone buzzing, commenting, and picking the winner of the rematch.
How do you see Morales getting by Pacquiao’s faster accumulations of punches now that he won his favored Cleto Reyes gloves?
Do you think it’ll be more of a disadvantage for what fighter?

I believe they’ll be pretty squared advantages all around. MP for rather using his comfortable brand dukes, and Morales doable in the rematch challenging the idea that he’s not quite finished. Choices of gloves are far from choosing your own weapons of choice in a rumble similar to calling for bats or chains in a gang fight.
You can’t really say it’ll be a disadvantage over another fighter when they’ve agreed to have it one particular favorite way for whoever it is.

Nothing should be taken for granted either, and we’re not expecting it to. I’ll side with you on distractions not being any factor for Pacquiao. The guy is used to the media and plays up to it like a fine toothcomb like always.
Who says Manny Pacquiao isn’t distracted now? He is. No boxer would be focused 100% in training, if there’s a camera crew following him anywhere he goes.
If he was training/performing for the crowd the 1st time out (1st Morales fight), he is training now for the camera. You see, a Phil t-v crew follows Manny around, wherever he goes, in the park, in the gym, and even inside his condo unit. Some people just never learn from the ills of the past.

No other fighter could play up to the crowds and remain focused?
What about fighters like Ali, Duran, and Hector Macho Camacho? Those guys needed picture lenses following them around for like what were newborn babies need to be breastfed. Manny is a ham and egger who absolutely loves the cameras rolling. And having had acting credits to boot tells you part of the story.
Why is it that a rematch between pacquiao; barrera (if pacquiao wins) is set on mar 26…is that too early? I remember prior to fight between pacquiao v. Velasquez, Morales vs. Raheem that if both fighters win there will be a rematch…Morales lost so why there’s a rematch? If vice versa Pacquiao losses, Morales wins…for sure there will be no rematch…am I right?
Does the people of boxing have in mind that pacquiao will be lost & gone someday…he is only lucky for what he achieved… and i know a lot of you have trusted ur favorite Mexican boxers…that they’re still the king of featherweights.

There isn’t anything wrong with history that speaks for itself. This Catch-22 is largely due to reversals in fortunes like we’re getting accustomed to watching in Harris Vs Maussa, Judah Vs Baldomir, Morales Vs Raheem, etc., so sealing the date is imperative to succeeding.
George, those middle rounds you talking are were Erik takes breaks. If he does that with Manny he’s going to get knocked down or eventually get stopped. Manny is too fast having more fight in him then Morales does.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Pac-Man knocked him out by 4 rounds.

Some say Erik has been on the downslide for the last few years. I was one of those who thought he’d be a terrific Lightweight by 2004, then retire by ’05 came around, but I never considered whether he had the punch to carry at 135 LBS., and, as it turned out he didn’t have the identical mule kick there.
Manny carried everything up from the featherweights to the junior lightweight division (or as they like to say these days, Super Featherweights). He might even be better than Erik as a lightweight. Who knows? However, at 130-pounds EM carries his formidable best. Erik fights better making his weight. And when he does that, Morales looks so domineering.
Say George, I think Morales is going to rip Pacquiao’s head off. The fight won’t go five rounds.

Should MP set that pace to throw down it could, but I don’t believe Pacquiao would welcome a full brawl for it all in the early going, unless he senses EM is stronger somehow and he’ll take that risk.
Manny is putting Erik Morales away. George, he should have retired after the third Barrera fight.

Only this fight will tell that, not the Barrera fight, or the Raheem fight, but this fight. I’ll say this much, if MP does out finesse Erik it is because he’s earned it. I feel Erik will be in tremendous shape and coming in at his natural weight. Those two elements usually spell out disaster for foes, but we’ll soon see.
