Three-division champion Juan Manuel Marquez was recently spotted training in Mexico City ahead of his April 14th clash with Ukrainian Sergey Fedchenko.
The fight serves as a co-feature to an HBO pay per view split-site event also featuring former lightweight champion Brandon Rios facing off with ambitious Cuban Richard Abril at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada.
If successful against Fedchenko, Marquez could find himself meeting up with Rios in July at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Texas. A victory in that encounter, no easy task given the brute strength and aggressive style of Rios, very well could pave the way for a fourth encounter with WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao in November.
Marquez has gone just 0-2-1 against Pacquiao in their three fights yet each bout was extremely competitive. It?s too far down the line to think of bouts with Rios and Pacquiao, but Fedchenko isn?t expected to be too tough of a test from Marquez.
All one has to do is check out the photos of Juan in training to get a sense of how pristine his condition looks with the fight now nine days away.
