Pacquiao regains speed, timing in just 3 weeks of training

BAGUIO CITY — Eight-world division champion Manny Pacquiao outboxed and outlasted both two Russian sparmates in his previous two, then four and finally six rounds of sparring sessions, according to assistant trainer Buboy Fernandez.

“The performance of Manny was impressive after just three weeks of training. The two Russian ace boxers admitted they could not at times fathom where Manny’s targets are,” he said.

Russian Ruslan Propovnikov in one of the four-round sparring sessions manifestly got a shocking hit when his nose bled.

However, no accidents in the intense boxing matches happened with the strict watch and supervision of American coach Freddie Roach.

“Manny has regained his speed and timing,” Fernandez concluded.

Meanwhile, legion of Pacquiao’s fans is now at Burnham Park and Teachers Camp where their idol is expected to resume his morning joggings.

For the last four days, Pacquiao was hardly seen in his uphill runs as he was concentrated on indoor training in preparation to his previous sparring sessions.

The Team Pacquiao is now in its final week here for the champion’s high-altitude training before flying to the United States for further training.

Pacquiao is set to defend his crown to undefeated American boxer Timothy Bradley in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 9. (PNA)
