Koncz debunks the power of GAB of the Philippines under Pacquiao’s spell – Zu?o

EXCLUSIVE INSIDE REPORT and COMMENTARY – Philippine Congressman Manny Pacquiao has that killer spell that would initially hypnotize the power potency of the Games and Amusement Board of the Philippines (GAB-Philippines). Not just of late, Michael Koncz, manager of Manny Pacquiao Promotions (MP Promotions) which unarguably under Pacquiao’s blinding power, renders GAB-Philippines’ powerless.

Guillermo Zu?o, longtime confidant of Pacquiao, says “Congressman Pacquiao is earnestly taking steps by proposing a bill to protect Filipino boxers, but his own MP Promotions continues to disregard the policies of the government when sending fighters out of the country.”

Zu?o, considerably a down-to-earth former narcotic agent/officer of the Philippine National Police and one of the proponents of boxing star Gerry Penalosa’s entry to the US in 1997, believes “Pacquiao must realize that his trusted man (Koncz) is insidiously of low regard toward Philippine law and policies and may have been dragging him down to protect his (Koncz) interests and of Top Rank (Pacquiao’s promoter), or it’s either he (Koncz) does not know what he is doing.”

Zu?o continues: “Just imagine, GAB is being run directly under the office of the President of the Philippines and yet Koncz still manuevers to totally disregard and disrespect its power.”

“I don’t hate Koncz, but I hate what continually does, categorically suppressing the power of the Philippine authority and particularly bypassing the Games and Amusement Board of the Philippines in the process of bringing the boxers to fight outside the Philippines,” he adds.

“Or nagtutulog-tulugan ang mga taga GAB (they are just sleeping, referring to its GAB’s officials) because it’s Manny Pacquiao’s boxing promotion.”

In what is now widely perceived as a manifested perpetual sign of intermitent-selective operative paralysis, the same government agency has repeatedly failed to provide stability and security among Filipinos, who are based in the Philippines, involved in professional sports of boxing outside of their country. This holds true especially if the boxing promotion is prompted under Pacquiao’s name, to which these officials of the GAB-Philippines would not take a stand to enforce legal protocol it is commissioned to observe, even under auspices of the Philippine Congress under the administration of President Simeon Benigno C. Aquino, Jr.

Meanwhile, why would GAB-Philippines chairman Juan Ramon Guanzon allow MP Promotions to bring fighters to fight in another country even without signed contract(s), such as in the case of Rodel Mayol and others who were brought to Mexico by Koncz last weekend?

Guanzon must have no excuse as this Mayol-Marquez fight is not one short of publicity. His statement of intent to protect Mayol potentially getting banned from ever fighting for a World Boxing Association title status post incident of Mayol’s withdrawal to fight Marquez last March 24, as scheduled and promoted by WBA, is simply one of cover-up and power-shield of pretention.

No doubt, Guanzon failed competent regulation and supervision over this “lucrative” venture, nay, apart from potential self-interest and lack of interest to uphold transparency – all for fighters’ protection and government’s tax remedial purposes.

Nevertheless, while in Philippines, Mayol was convinced by Koncz to fight Tyson Marquez of Mexico for the amount of $ 25,000 with no written contract signed. Then, when Mayol arrived in Los Angeles before they flew to Mexico for the scheduled fight, Koncz told Mayol that he would only get $ 20,000 instead as offered, for no specific reason. When they arrived in Mexico a day just before the purported fight date, still Mayol was kept in much uncertainty but just “talk” of unwarranted promise.

Unless acted upon by highier authorities, don’t be surprise if the same agency fails “to promote dynamism in upholding the interests of the Filipino boxers and the Philippine government by way of no-nonsense regulatory authority”.

When shall these irregularities abate?
