Renowned Mexican-American boxing trainer Robert Garcia said he believes eighth weight divisions champion Manny Pacquiao would pull off an easy win against unbeaten American Timothy Bradley because of the huge disparity between the two boxers? skills and experience.
Garcia, a former International Boxing Federation super featherweight champion, who also trains another Filipino world champion Nonito Donaire Jr., wants Pacquiao for his ward Bam Bam Rios should the Filipino ring icon triumphed over Bradley on June 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
?I?m more concerned about Manny Pacquiao who won?t have much problem with Tim Bradley,? Garcia told examiner.com writer Michael Marley. ?If Manny wins that fight on June 9, we?re gunning for Bam Bam to fight him.?
Bradley (28-0 with 12 KOs), who is eyeing Pacquiao?s World Boxing Organization welterweight belt, is considered a 1-7 underdog against the Filipino.
Although the 25-year-old Rios (29-0-1 win-loss-draw card with 22 KOs), currently a lightweight, is lighter than Pacquiao, Garcia said it would not be a problem because his ward would have no trouble getting heavier for the welterweight class.
?I?d really like to see that one, it would be an all-action fight, a war,? Garcia said.
