Imagine Marvelous Marvin Hagler fighting Thomas Hearns and Sugar Ray Leonard fighting Roberto Duran, all on the same night in Las Vegas. Those four legendary pugilists ruled the Golden Era of Boxing in the eighties. They were? Four Kings? which is also a name of a book by late veteran of sweet science, George Kimball. Not quite Four Kings, Ring Kings is a major boxing event of this year that dares to imagine great things and features three legendary champions, Floyd Mayweather, Miguel Cotto and Sugar Shane Mosley and a fast rising young star form Mexico, Saul Alvarez. Scheduled for May 5th at the Mecca of boxing, MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas the event will feature two super welterweight chmpionship fights. In the main event of the evening, unbetaen in forty two fights, Floyd Money Mayweather will challenge Puerto Rican star, Miguel Cotto for the WBA World super welterweight title, while supporting bout will feature rising star, Saul Alvarez defend WBC belt against former multi divisional champion, Sugar Shane Mosley. All four fighters were on hand at the famed Chineese Theater in Hollywood, California on Thursday afternoon to promote the blockbuster event in Las Vegas.
The only question mark on this impressive line up is forty years old veteran, Sugar Shane Mosley who many belive has reached a twilight of his boxing career, especially considering his last three performances. Golden Boy Promotions chief, Richard Schaefer implored fans and media not to count Shane out and pointed out all the Mexican fighters he has beeaten throughout his illustrious career. Oscar De La Hoya, Fernando Vargas and Antonio Margarito are on that list. Richard went on to say that Shane just knows how to beat a Mexican fighter.

I just want to thank god for giving me all these opportunities to be able to be in big matches like this and to be able to be on a great card; Mayweather and Cotto and fighting Canelo. These are great fighters and I am sure we are going to have a great card. I fought both guys, Mayweather and Cotto and I think it’s going to be a tremendous fight and I am excited and honored to be on the undercard. I know me and Saul could probably be on our own card, but this is a spectacular event and I am very honored to be a part of this.?
