Orlando Salido vs. Juan Manuel Lopez 2, who wins?- Here we stand, a few days away from the Salido/Lopez rematch for the WBO featherweight title. The bout will air this Saturday night on Showtime, and boy, it will for sure be showtime once the opening bell rings. This fight will be very close until one man finds the extra space to land the atomic bomb that will lay his opponent down for the count. In my opinion, I feel that this time it will be Lopez who will land a perfectly placed shot right down the middle catching a very surprised Salido. I feel that this clash will end inside 10 rounds. I strongly feel that Salido can win this fight by getting low and firing over hand shots, but something tells me that JuanMa knows that far too well and will do a better job at avoiding those short night type of shots. Only thing is though, that those over hand shots are the hardest shots to counter, so can JuanMa be able to take the right steps at the right time to get out of harms way fast enough? That is going to be the question of the night. In saying that, I still feel that JuanMa will be able to even the score by landing leather right down the middle very often. But to do so, Lopez must jab enough to the point to where Salido dips and comes up for air only to be greeted by some thunder. Lopez by KO in 10.
Mikey Garcia vs. Bernabe Concepcion- This fight will be a shootout from the jump. Concepcion is shooter but at times he seems to concerned with shooting first and ask questions last. Usually this is a good trait to have, but not against a technical fighter like Garcia. One must fire at Garcia with a controlled assault. Garcia is so calm in there, the only way to break his spirit is to surprise him with fighting at a steady pace darting in and out. Sure, it would make for a snoozer but that?s the only way I see Concepcion beating this kid. Garcia would love for his opponent to stand in front of him at all times so Garcia can break you down to the body and blasting you with counters. Come to think about it, that?s exactly how I see this fight going. I see Garcia breaking down Concepcion and beating the snot out of him inside 7 rounds. Garcia by KO in 7.
Gamboa?- So with Gamboa chilling out at the Mayweather Club, 2 things come to mind. #1- why in the world would he not speak up earlier when the press was starting to write about his fight with Rios? I mean, why not say something then, like hey guys, I haven?t signed the contract yet.. The second thing that comes to mind, is that I realize that Gamboa is an orthodox fighter, but I?m sure that he can switch lefty and give Floyd that Pacquiao look. Gamboa like Pac is blazing fast and can carry some pop and on top of that, Gamboa also has very fast feet. Gamboa may not have Pacman like power but I?m sure that Gamboa is the closest look to Pacquiao that Floyd will be able to find out there in Vegas. Assuming of course that the Big Fight will one day FINALLY materialize. But you know how that goes, yes, no, maybe so. I hope that Johnny Molina Jr. can get the call to face Bam Bam, I would love to see that fight go down.
