I thought I turned the wrong channel and was watching a replay of Mayweather fighting Marquez, the shoulder roll, the movement, the jab and then I started listening and I saw it was Broner and I thought, oh no, not another Floyd Mayweather. The resemblance is eerie. The young one is even cockier than Floyd and he has serious fire power in his fists. That right hand he threw to end the fight with did not even have full power behind it; the boy just saw an opening and took it and that was it, lights out. The boy is just twenty two years old. Did you hear him tell Max that he could have worn his jewelry in the ring on account of him never getting hit that night??
?Yes I did,? exclaimed Downtown Ronnie Brown:? You know why he said that, because he never got touched in that fight. Broner made that undefeated kid from California look like an amateur in there. If memory serves me right our boxing expert thought Eloy Perez had a very good chance of upsetting the odds,? continued Ronnie Brown smiling in my direction:? Eloy had two chances of winning that night; slim and none and slim left the building. And then did you hear what he said afterwards??
?No, was is it about Pops doing his hair?? inquired Big Steve.
?He said that there is a difference between a good fighter and elite fighter,? exclaimed Ronnie Brown:? And that he just demonstrated it. He must have called Floyd to get an advice on closing comments. Then he goes on about having the fastest feet in the business and that he should be on ?Dancing with the stars?. I ?ll tell you what; we?ve got a real star in the making here.?
?Hold your horses,? cried out Al the Barber:? One great performance doesn?t make this boy a star. Granted he looked pretty good, but styles make fights and it seemed like Eloy Perez was tailor made for him to look good. But if memory serves me right Broner was in the ring with Ponce De Leon last year and was damn lucky to come away with a win. In my eyes Ponce won that fight decisively, but got another bad decision from the judges. May be they should do a rematch to clear the air.?
?Rematch it is,? confirmed Big Steve:? I think he would kill Ponce in a rematch. The boy was more concerned with posing on national TV and admiring his work the first time out then winning the fight. Mark my words; he would take Ponce apart in a rematch. The boy seems poised for stardom; he is a complete fighter, offence, defense, speed, skills and power. Right now I don?t see any one giving him a hard time. Like Ali the Greatest said- It ain?t bragging if you can back it up. And this boy can definitely back it up. I am officially jumping on his bandwagon. ?
