“It’s official, my manager has made my dreams come true and I have signed my contract to fight Manny Pacquiao. It’s time to go to work,” posted undefeated fighter Timothy “The Desert Storm” Bradley on his Twitter account a few moments ago.
Cameron Dunkin, manager of Bradley, did not waste time but made his way to spotlight Bradley’s wishes which prevailed over what seemed to be an almost remote choice by Top Rank to be picked as the likely opponent of Pacquiao.
Bradley, 28, marks his trail with 28 wins, boasting 41.38% of which by knockout, versus Pacquiao’s 54 wins, of which 64.41% by knockout. Pacquiao has 3 losses and 2 draws.
On the other hand, Bradley ranks No. 1 in the light welterweight. He will challenge Pacquiao, 33, for the latter’s WBO Welterweight title at 147 pounds limit, non-catchweight bout on June 9 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Bradley’ last two fights made him a bit of standing. He put Joel Casamayor, once a formidable fighter in the light welterweight division during his prime, into submission via TKO in round 8 in the last fall. Casamayor was down in rounds 5, 6 and 8. Prior to his Casamayor fight, he handed Devon Alexander his first professional defeat by technical decision in the 10th round.
“Bradley is going to be the toughest opponent than his previous fights as he is fighting a young light weltwerweight champion who may seem to be very energetic, dynamic and comfortable at full-welterweight,” says Top Rank Godfather Robert “Bob”Arum who promotes both fighters. Freddie Roach, multi-award winning trainer of Pacquiao, would not discount this fight as one such of an attraction which may have blindly given a slight edge for Bradley in terms of weight management, as this would be the first title fight for Bradley at full welterweight.
“Bradley is more dangerous, younger, fresher, tougher and possibly stronger than Pacquiao’s previous opponents,” says Roach in an exclusive interview.
But, “I already have a game plan to beat Bradley.”
Pacquiao has 54 wins, of which 64.41% ended by way of knockout. He has 3 losses and 2 draws.
