Earlier today at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, the four participants to the upcoming February 4th HBO event came face to face for their respective showdowns.
In the main event, WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. was on hand as he greeted Durango, Mexico?s Marco Antonio Rubio. While Chavez is a favorite heading into the fight, Rubio has a lot of momentum coming into the fight after having scored one of 2011?s biggest upsets against Canada?s David Lemieux in April.
The chief attraction that night features Nonito Donaire challenging Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. for the vacant WBO junior featherweight strap. Donaire currently holds the WBC and WBO bantamweight crowns but is rising in weight to challenge the former champion Vazquez.
