ALA Promotions was forced to postpone its free boxing event, ?Cobra Tunay na Lakas Boxing?, at the Children?s Park in Iligan City because of the devastation by a tropical storm.
Instead of holding a free boxing event, ALA Promotions and Cobra Energy Drink decided to hand out donations to the victims of Sendong.
?We have to postpone the event due to the tragedy in Iligan. And ALA Promotions and Cobra will instead be sending donations tomorrow (today),? ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer told Sun.Star Cebu yesterday.
The storm demolished hundreds of homes in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan City and killed more than 500 people.Thousands more were left homeless.
?It (donation) will be in kind like clothes or anything we can give to help the victims? families who have lost their homes,? said Aldeguer.
The ALA-Cobra boxing show would have featured prospect Marjohn Yap against Paul Apolinario in the main event, ALA Gym veteran Along Denoy and Roger Echavez in the co-main event and five other fights from promising young Filipino pugs.
The event won?t be happening anytime soon in Iligan City as ALA Promotions? and Cobra Energy Drink?s main concern is to help the victims of the typhoon.
