The 27-year-old hard-hitting Mexican will pose a tough test for Bautista because the former has an unscathed 17-0-1 record and has a perfect knockout rate. A win could silence Bautista?s doubters and will prove that he can survive a knockout puncher like Mendoza since many have doubted the 25-year-old Boholano?s chin after he was stopped in the first round by Daniel Ponce de Leon in 2007.
Bautista, 31-2 with 23 knockouts, showcased his wares in front of Cebuano boxing fans and onlookers in a public workout yesterday at SM City Cebu along with unbeaten Genesis Servania and Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation flyweight titlist Rocky Funetes.
Servania (15-0, 5 KOs) is also up against an unbeaten Mexican, Marcos Cardenas (12-0-1, 9 KOs), while Fuentes (29-6-2, 17 KOs) will face Thai Lookdiaw Tor Buamas (7-2, 4 KOs).
