Last week the boxing world was up in arms with the announcement of Floyd Mayweather Jr. being sentenced to 90 days in jail for his involvement in a September 2010 domestic violence case with his former fianc?? Josie Harris and two of his children.
Mayweather is the type of fighter that draws strong opinions from the masses but on Monday afternoon one individual chose to not focus too much on Floyd?s out-of-the-ring drama. Trainer Robert Garcia, now in Las Vegas working with Nonito Donaire for his February 4th HBO date with Wilfredo Vazquez Jr., gave his take on Mayweather?s impending sentencing.
?I did read about that but I don?t really pay attention to what I read,? Garcia said, speaking from the Top Rank Gym. ?Sometimes a lot of things are not the way they really are. But if it is, hey, he?s going to do his time and why even question that? He?s going to be man enough to come in and do his time and hey, good luck to him.?
