Robert Guerrero told Boxingscene.com that Saul ?Canelo? Alvarez is not worthy of boxing Floyd Mayweather, who ?The Ghost? declared is the best pound for pound fighter in the world.
In effect, Guerrero is admitting that he and Alvarez are inferior to Mayweather.
Making his case to earn the big fight with Mayweather, Guerrero also claims he has the ability to box and fight inside and that he has the stamina and ability to punch in volume, while wondering if Mayweather can slip the four or five punch combinations that he will throw.
But with all of his statements, Guerrero failed to say the most important thing of all. He failed to say that he can beat Mayweather.
Obviously, Guerrero is in acceptance of his subordinate role to Mayweather. This means that he is just seeking a payday and to offer and sacrifice himself as another handpicked set-up opponent for Mayweather, who has made a career out of handpicking disadvantaged and overmatched opponents while ducking and dodging the roughest challenges that the public wants to see. There is no public demand to see a Mayweather sparring session against Robert Guerrero. Absolutely none.
Do you want to see another Golden Boy ?fight? that features Mayweather against another handpicked set-up that knows he has no chance to win?
I don?t either.
Take a seat Mr. Guerrero and wait your turn. Let the powers-that-be and Bob Arum work out a solution to making the biggest fight in boxing history ? Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather for May or June 2012. You may get your chance later on.
But a word of advice Mr. Guerrero. Get yourself into a state of mind where you think and believe that you can actually beat Mayweather or Pacquiao. And then say it loud and say it clear. Only then will the media and public become interested to see you take on the top guns.
