Earlier today in Orlando, Florida, WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto played host to the media in advance of his December 3rd clash with bitter rival Antonio Margarito. The Tijuana fighter handed Cotto the first loss of his career in July of 2008 when he stormed back from an early deficit before registering an 11th round TKO at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Today the New York State Athletic Commission is examning Margarito’s right eye, as he was the victim of a broken orbital bone in his loss to Manny Pacquiao last year, to see if the fighter can get licensed to fight at the famed Madison Square Garden in New York. But wherever the fight lands, there will likely be high drama when the rematch goes down.
