THE HATED AND UNDERRATED MAILBAG

Are you a relative of Floyd Mayweather?? Sure sounds like it. Floyd [should have lost] the first Jose Luis Castillo fight [{Editor’s note: Mayweather was credited with the decision, many feel undeservedly]. A prime Oscar De La Hoya would have won that fight with Floyd?Oscar was only a part-time fighter when he fought him. So try to be more accurate and quit sucking on Mayweather? he?s a felon and a jerk anyways?..

Darrell?s Response: Wow, considering the ignorant tone to your email, I was wondering if YOU might be the one related to Floyd. I love how you wrote in to debate with me about my article and ended up corroborating my point about why Mayweather is underrated: because he is hated. You brought up his criminal record and personality which are precisely the things that I believe have contributed to him being slightly underrated. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Take Floyd’s [sex organ] out of your mouth and take a deep breath because you brain is seriously losing oxygen. I will agree with you that no doubt Floyd is a good fighter, but because we both agree that he missed, and sometimes missed purposely many career defining fights you can never really know how great he is. Amir Khan and Manny Pacquiao have tough fights because they fight tough fighters. How long can Floyd hold on to beating Diego Corrales?? You give this guy too much credit and every excuse in the book including “although he didn’t fight those guys… he would have beat them …. including Pernnel Whitaker. At least try to be objective. Take this into consideration all of the now shot fighters got shot by beating each other – Floyd fights NONE of them. You think he is underrated and great because you just loves yourself some Floyd — not because he proved it — especially not recently.

Darrell?s Response: Ok, give me a second I?m taking Floyd?s [sex organ] out of my mouth lol. We both agree that Floyd intentionally missed certain fighters that would have undoubtedly added to his legacy. I wrote a whole damn article about it and was labeled a ?pactard? by Floyd fanatics, remember? Now I am being accused of having Floyd?s [sex organ] in my mouth. Which is it? This is getting comical! I take this as a compliment because it means I can be objective. In the past, I was unable to be objective because I am a big fan of Floyd the fighter (not the person) and I was defending him to the point of ridiculousness in regards to not fighting certain dudes.

My main point is that most people can?t stand Floyd, and it?s extremely difficult to be objective when you have very strong emotions (positive or negative) towards an individual. I have seen fighters become overrated due to the public?s sentiment towards them. For example, there were many people that actually gave Gatti a legit chance of beating Mayweather! Gatti! Who doesn?t love Gatti? But, c?mon! Same thing with Ricky Hatton. People forget this shit after the fact and become revisionist historians. I also think that many people just flat out don?t know boxing and don?t have an educated enough eye. Again, I was called a ?moron? for suggesting back in the early part of the 2000?s that Mayweather was better than Mosley. Who is going down historically as the greater fight? I was right! Even a person who is a good friend of mine and someone with whom I have a lot of respect for in regards to boxing knowledge picked a 38 year old Mosley to defeat Mayweather. Regardless of who he hasn?t faced, I?ve seen enough of Mayweather and against solid enough competition to know how great he is and that no fighter right now below 160 lbs can beat him. That includes Pacquiao!

I?m sick of people acting as if Pacquiao has what it takes to beat him. I?m tired of sitting back and holding my tongue when I know in my heart that as great and special as Manny is, he ain?t beating Floyd. It?s not happening. I will be betting a lot of money on that fight if and when it happens. I hope a sh*tload of Filipinos both in the Philippines and here in America bet with their hearts and put their hard earned money on Pacquiao so that the odds that will start at around 2 to 1 for Floyd are adjusted to close to even so I can make more money betting on Floyd. I?m not saying I?m never wrong (no human is), but I will NOT be wrong in this case. Floyd will school Manny after about 3 rounds of figuring him out and either stop him late or win an eight rounds to four type of decision. If I am wrong, I will own up to it immediately.
