Floyd Mayweather Breaks New Numbers Record – Manny Pacquiao Far Behind

Boxing’s pound for pound King, Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. has officially hit another milestone. Last night at 11:30 pm eastern, breaking another impressive record on on his verified twitter account, “Money” Mayweather Jr. broke 2 million followers.

It is very safe to say that you need to be extremely popular to hit such an impressive number in terms of fans. Check out the screen grab we posted on this page marking the milestone.

If you compare “Money” Mayweather’s twitter numbers with the other big name in the sport, Manny Pacquiao… there is no comparison. As the last time I checked, Pacquiao’s numbers are lacking terrible with just under 310,000 fans (see screen grab on this page). A far cry from “Money” Mayweather’s twitter followers. So basically, some quick math… Mayweather basically has 1,700,000 more twitter fans following him over Pacquiao. Wow… where are all the Pacquiao fans?!

We get press releases and media hype all the time telling us just how popular these two fighters are. Still, there is nothing better than seeing the proof in the pudding for yourself… and obviously web traffic is always a strong indicator. Neither “Money” nor Pacquiao can cheat their twitter numbers. Of course both have more fans in reality than the twitter numbers they have representing them… but fan support on the net is obviously in strong favor for “Money” Mayweather.
