Rey “Boom-Boom” Bautista, the World Boxing Organization Asia-Pacific (Aspac) bantamweight champion, will lead two other New Generation ALA Boys in their respective campaigns to the US.
Just a few days after his second-round win over Obote Ameme in Tagbilaran City, Bautista will leave the country next week together with new WBO Aspac junior-lightweight champion Czar Amonsot and OPBF No.1 super-flyweight contender Z Gorres, along with their trainer Edito “ALA” Villamor and manager Antonio Lopez Aldeguer.
Bautista is scheduled to fight in Las Vegas on Dec. 23 against Gerardo “Locomotora” Espinoza in the undercard of the Fernando Trejo-Jose Armando Santa Cruz NABF lightweight championship fight.
Espinoza will be an acid test for the 19-year-old sensation from Candijay, Bohol as the fighter from Tijuana, Mexico holds a record of 28-9 record with 26 KOs. Espinoza, 24, has a 68-inch reach and at 5-foot-9 is three inches taller than Bautista.
Amonsot and Gorres are also scheduled to fight in Las Vegas in January in the Guilty Boxing Promotion against yet to be named opponents.
