In recent years it?s hard to think of a trainer who has been in the spotlight as much as Freddie Roach. Intertwined with his duties at the Wild Card Boxing Club in Los Angeles, California as he trains the likes of Manny Pacquiao, Amir Khan, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., Jorge Linares, and others, Roach is an esteemed coach as has won the Boxing Writers Association of America Trainer of the year award in 2003, 2006, 2008, 2009, and 2010.
That being said, Roach?s notoriety appears to be getting a boost this coming January 20th when HBO will debut the new reality series ON FREDDIE ROACH. Directed and executive produced by Emmy nominee Peter Berg, the show is said to feature an extremely intimate look at the 51-year old Roach as he deals with the rigors of Parkinson?s disease while playing host to a field of world-class athletes out of his personal gym.
