I wrote an article a few days ago questioning why Pacquiao strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza was yelling directives at Manny in between rounds. I thought that was Freddie Roach’s job. Anyway, fellow Examiner writer Igor Frank took it a step further with his observation and pointed out that Ariza was also working cuts in the corner. Read his article HERE
Why the heck is Alex Ariza working cuts and shouting boxing advice from the corner? So let me get this straight. Manny Pacquiao, the most popular fighter in the world, standing on top of the mountain, wealth, fame, everything, and they don’t have a cut man in the corner? What about Joe Chavez?
In Igor’s article he points out that Pacquiao did indeed hire a cut man in Miguel Diaz. Igor quoted Diaz as saying, ” I work cuts when they get serious” and he pointed out that Diaz looked down in embarrassment after saying that.
Again, as I pointed out in a previous article my last attempt to reach out to Ariza for an interview went ignored. At this point in my writing career, I don’t chase down many people for interviews with the exception of a select few in this sport. The way I see it? They are the ones that get hurt by turning down interview requests, not me. If people in this sport cherry pick who they talk to, they themselves get hurt not the writer. The writer being denied or ignored the interview will just get the perspective from someone else which denies the person in question the opportunity to set the record straight themselves. PACQUIAO GOING FORWARD
Pacquiao was in a real fight last Saturday. Some people are going after Manny, and for the 1st time I heard a lot of people booing Pacquiao after the fight. Pacquiao is the last person anyone should be booing. The guy is a fighter, not a promoter. With that said, I do wish that Manny would step up and face down Arum, and demand that Arum make the Mayweather fight.

There was definitely something bothering Manny Pacquiao before the fight. His ring entrance face expression told the story. He was not the bright eyed, happy Manny Pacquiao. He is a human being. He must at times feel the pressures of having to be the best.
Manny has some other issues that he’s dealing with as well. People who truly care about the guy need to be there for him, and not for his money. Pacquiao needs to clean his house, and I’m not talking about with a vacuum cleaner. Manny needs to flush out the leeches that are sucking on his veins. He needs to keep guys like Winchel Campos, and Buboy, and a few others, and toss the rest of them out of his circle.
