Amir Khan invites Barack Obama to Lamont Peterson fight but admits he may quit boxing within three years

The British two-belt world champion at light-welterweight, who turns 25 next week, defends the WBA and IBF titles against Peterson in the American?s home town of Washington DC a week on Saturday.

Khan insists he has undergone the ?toughest, yet smoothest training camp? of his career for this contest, overlapping with Freddie Roach Wild Card Gym stablemates Manny Pacquiao, who fought in Las Vegas early in November, and Julio Cesar Chavez Jnr, who fought in Texas two weeks ago.

?Every fight I?m getting stronger,? he explained. ?I?m fitting into the weight more and I?m getting more mature, and my body?s changing. I feel very strong for this fight and as ready as I have done for previous bouts.?

?One thing about Alex Ariza [Khan?s conditioning coach] is that he likes to push you out of your comfort zone and he likes to keep you there. When you?re fighting in the last few rounds and your body?s tired, you know that you can push yourself because of all the hard work you’ve done in training.

“We make sure that we cover all aspects of training so no matter what situation occurs in the ring, whether you fight one round or twelve, you?re best prepared to handle whatever comes your way.?
