Earlier today in Las Vegas, Nevada, Mexico City?s beloved Juan Manuel Marquez made his grand arrival to the city as he hit up a sea of fans awaiting him at the lobby of the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino. Marquez faces off with Manny Pacquiao this Saturday night for the third time and there will be much more on the line than Pacquiao?s WBO welterweight bauble.
Despite going tooth and nail with Pacquiao on two separate occasions, a May 2004 split-draw and a 2008 split-decision that went against Marquez, the 38-year is far from content with how things played. And while Pacquiao?s legion of supporters make their presence felt in all circles, Marquez too has a strong following, a fact further highlighted by the turnout for his arrival this afternoon.
