Trainer Freddie Roach addressed the media earlier today in Las Vegas at the final press conference for his fighter Manny Pacquiao’s match against Juan Manuel Marquez. Pacquiao and Marquez will be fighting for a third time and the action will go down inside of the MGM Grand’s Garden Arena this weekend.
Despite people questioning Marquez’s training for this bout, as he enlisted the services of Angel Hernandez, a proven steroid dealer in years past, Roach didn’t take any cheap shots and instead acknowledged that trainer Nacho Beristain had prepared his fighter well down in their camp in Mexico City.
“I know that Nacho’s got his man ready,” Roach said when he spoke to the media during the presser. “He looks big and strong and ready to go. We’ve worked very hard with Manny and we know our guy is ready.”
Perhaps there was a reason that Roach was so low-key when discussing the third Pacquiao-Marquez fight, simply because the first two bouts were so exciting that the stage is already set for a good finale. Roach finished up by making sure to tell viewers not to miss what’s coming ahead. “There’s going to be a lot of fireworks on Saturday the 12th. Don’t miss it.”
