MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Nevada – Too bad, really! Filipino Superstar Manny Pacquiao only had marginal cheer, if not a lukewarm response from some of his so-called “hardcore supporters” and “fans”, just when the bout was shifting into the second half of his twelve rounds of boxing against brilliant Juan Manuel Marquez of Mexico City, as the 16, 368 in attendance were engaging in a roller-coaster kind of frenzy.

“Despite Pacquiao winning in most of the second half of the fight, the ‘gamblers’, who were rooting for early knockout by Pacquiao, stopped cheering,” said one observer who hailed from Chicago and came to witness the Pacquiao-Marquez fight live. “They became stoic in this Pacquiao’s moment of victory.”
It’s not just sad. It’s even worse than that! They bet by hundreds and others by thousands of dollars on higher odds hoping that Pacquiao would win by knockout within six rounds. So they were “praying and cheering” for Pacquiao for the same hope. Passed six rounds, even though Pacquiao scored smashing shots, they became silent. Sadness filled up their faces. And for those in team Pacquiao who bet by thousands, one would see the lines deepening on their foreheads.
