Sergio Martinez? nose not broken

Rumors of Sergio Martinez breaking his nose during his 11th round stoppage victory over Darren Barker are false, Cicilio Flores told Fightnews.com on Wednesday afternoon. Flores worked in the corner of Martinez on Saturday night at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ. Martinez began bleeding from his nose in the fourth round from a Barker punch, but cut man Dr. Roger Anderson was able to stop the bleeding as the bout progressed. With the amount of blood coming out of his nose and a reddened nose, most media began to speculate if Martinez did suffer a break to his nose. ?There was no broken nose and he is doing well,? said Flores, who co-owns the World Crown Training Center in Port Hueneme, located next to Oxnard. ?He?s currently in Spain resting. He?ll be there for the next four weeks.? Prior to Martinez migrating to Oxnard, the Argentine-born linear middleweight champion lived in Spain for about 10 years.
