SHOWTIME PPV-LAS VEGAS UNDERCARD RESULTS

PACQUIAO NAME MORE “FAMOUS” THAN FAMOUS!

Las Vegas, NV-Inept scoring may have marred the opening bout on the Showtime PPV card, emanating from the Thomas & Mack Arena. The match pitted Carlos “Famous” Hernandez, against Bobby Pacquiao, the brother of Manny Pacquiao. And while the Filipino opened strong, dropping Hernandez in the second, it was all down hill I thought from that point forward.

PACQUIAO DROPS HERNANDEZ BEFORE “FADING”

Pacquiao, he had his moments. But to give the fight to Pacquiao after ten rounds tonight, it was wrong! The split decision scores read like this. Judge Robert Hoyle, he had Hernandez winning 97-92, or 7-2-1 in rounds. The other two jurists, Duane Ford saw it 95-93 for Pacquiao, and Chuck Giampa, he submitted a 95-94 card for Pacquiao. Most the media, and the Showtime talking heads, they felt Hernandez had clearly won.

GOT OFF DECK, AND WENT ON A RUN OF ROUNDS!

Pacquiao, 130 lbs., a southpaw, he came to fight. And that was evident, as he caught Hernandez with a good left in the second, knocking him down, for only the second time in his career. Hernandez, 132, Los Angeles, got up, and before you knew it, Pacquiao had seemingly missed his knockout opportunity. With the disputed win, Pacquiao, he ascends to 26-11-3, (11 KO’s). Hernandez, loses for the second straight time by split decision. Carlos declines to 41-6-1, (24 KO’s).

CHAVEZ JR. FIGHTS YET ANOTHER HOBO!

Jeremy Stiers, 143 ?, Gardner, KS, he is to Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., what Jerry Lewis was to his father. Lewis, and no not the comedian, he was a stiff that Chavez beat like a drum. Fast-forward 23 years, and Steirs falls in five, after giving his all. Problem is, his all, it wasn’t much for the now 23-0, (19 KO’s) son of a legend. Stiers took a beating, that was prolonged by his stubbornness and grit. Finally, referee Richard Steele, he halted matters at the :47 second mark of the fifth. Stiers, he falls to 9-5, (6 KO’s).

GIANT FLY ARCE TOO MUCH FOR HUSSIEN

Jorge Arce, 111, Los Mochis, MX, was WAY too big for Australia’s Hussein Hussein, 112. A first round knockdown, was followed by another in the second. At that point, trainer Jeff Fenech, he had seen enough, and tossed in the towel. Arce, who weighed close to 130 lbs. come fight time, he ascends to 43-3-1, (31 KO’s). Hussein, loses for the second time, and is now 28-3, (21 KO’s). Gaining a reported 19 lbs. did Arce, if boxing allows this to continue, somebody will end up getting killed!

MAS UNDERCARD ACTION

Armenian jr. middleweight Vanes Mariroysyan, 155, Glendale, CA improved to 5-0, (2 KOs) with a first round TKO over Tony Morales, 150, West Palm Beach, FL. Americo Santos, 140, Garland, TX moved to 23-0, 19 KO’s, with a first round romp over Jeremy Yelton, 143, Martinsville, VA. Time was 2:20. Yelton, he declines to 17-3, (8 KO’s). And another Top Rank fighter, Rolando Reyes, 134, Oxnard, (26-3-2, 16 KO’s) CA won a unanimous decision over Ivan Cabrera, 137, Mexico City. Scores, 96-93, 96-94, & 97-92. Cabrera, he is now 11-6-1, (6 KO’s).
