It sounds like Oscar knows he has something Floyd desperately needs, doesn?t it? Like Oscar is the one in the position of power ? calling the shots ? and Floyd is the inferior subordinate.
This makes some sense when you consider that the PPV numbers for the Ortiz fight were never officially certified by HBO and Golden Boy, as is custom when a boxing show does big business. This strongly suggests that Mayweather vs. Ortiz was a failure PPV-wise.
Until someone at HBO or Golden Boy affirms that the 1.3 million figure is accurate, anything that Mayweather himself claims on fighthype.com about his star power and ability to sell PPV buys is most likely self-serving or false.
So if ?Star Power? indeed underperformed revenue-wise, as is very possible, Mayweather could be in deep trouble. I mean DEEP trouble. Because I have heard insider rumors that Mayweather is broke and has been supported by his ?Go-to-guy? Al Haymon. On top of that, Mayweather still is going to have to pay enormous legal expenses for his upcoming legal issues. If the Ortiz fight was a big failure, Mayweather will now find himself with little leverage and in an absolutely desperate position.
It?s obvious that Floyd can?t and won?t fight Pacquiao because his career and earning power leverage will come to an abrupt end (assuming Floyd will be brutally knocked out by Pacquaio which I am more than sure is the outcome because of all of Floyd?s excuses and reasons to duck the fight ? he?s 100% psychologically beaten already by Pacquiao).
