FAMED trainer Freddie Roach believes Bobby Pacquiao has a solid chance of defeating feared warrior Carlos “Famoso” Hernadez, but whether the Filipino boxer proves him right would not be known until Saturday (Sunday in Manila) when Pacquiao takes on Hernandez in Las Vegas.
Bobby, the younger brother of superstar Manny Pacquiao, is the heavy underdog in the match scheduled at the Thomas and Mack Center.
Hernandez, the former super featherweight champion, is on a comeback trail and Pacquiao is trying to get back on track and revive his fading career.
Hernandez had earlier vowed to chop Bobby Pacquiao like a tree the moment they step into the ring. The boxer from El Salvador has a record of 41-5-1 with 24 KOs.
Pacquiao, meanwhile, would be entering the fight holding a not-so-impressive slate of 25 wins, 11 defeats, and three draws with 11 KOs. He is a 7-1 underdog against Hernadez.
But Roach said Pacquiao would stun the world come fight night, adding that they have trained hard for this huge fight.
Manny is expected to be at ringside to give moral support to his younger brother.
The Pacquiao-Hernandez clash is one of the undercards in the Diego Corrales-Jose Luis Castillo rematch.
