Whether you loved it or hated it, you have to admit that last night?s dual-site ?Star Power? event from Las Vegas and Los Angeles was unlike anything we have seen in the sport of boxing. In a card headlined by Floyd Mayweather?s challenge of Victor Ortiz?s WBC welterweight title, which featured showcase bouts with Erik Morales and Saul Alvarez, we definitely took in a finish that has left us all talking.
From intentional head-butts from Ortiz, Mayweather returning the favor with an unforeseen shot of his own, a pair of fights with questionable verdicts, and much drama at the post-fight press conference, it definitely wasn?t your typical night of boxing. And at the end of the day we are left in the same spot as we were two years ago, with people crossing their fingers that we may one day get to see Mayweather in the same ring with Manny Pacquiao.
