World title hopeful Dodie Boy Pe?alosa Jr tries to stay on an unbeaten course as he continues to hone his skills to become the third in the family to capture a world boxing crown.
Pe?alosa will go up against Donriel Marcos on October 1 at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City seeking his 7th win in as many fights.
He is coming off a third round stoppage victory over Thai boxer Kong Kiatpracha Gym and hopes to add Marcos to his knockout victims.
Marcos, on the other hand, is coming off a knockout loss to Ray Las Pi?as of General Santos City and holds a record of 10 wins and 13 losses.
Pe?alosa, son of former flyweight champion Dodie Boy Sr, has stopped all six of his previous opponents, averaging less than two rounds to dispose of them.
He is now being promoted by his uncle Gerry Pe?alosa, also a two-weight class world boxing champion who retired only last year.
Gerry says his nephew needs more honing up before facing world class challenge.
He hopes to introduce his nephew to the international boxing scene next year.
Also appearing in the Gerrypens Promotion are Michael Fari?as who will go up against Edgar Gabejan and comebacking Eden Sansona who will face Gadwin Tubigon.
Another nephew of Gerry, Dave Pe?alosa will be making his pro debut going up against John Edu Torbiso.
Dodie Boy Jr was once an Olympic gold medal hopeful but skipped the national training pool to pursue a professional career.
He packs power in both hands and, like his father and uncle, is an excellent boxer counterpuncher.
He is a third generation of the boxing Pe?alosas.
