Amir Khan will have to take drug test to face Floyd Mayweather Jnr in light-welterweight showdown

Mayweather ? who has an unblemished 15-year 41, fight career ? was also adamant yesterday that he gets ?more love from the UK fans? than he does from his own compatriots, and insisted he was ?ducking nobody? after suggestions from Khan that the Las Vegan resident was avoiding a ring confrontation.

Khan, the WBA light-welterweight champion, claimed this week that he has ?the speed, power and accuracy? to remove Mayweather?s unbeaten record.

“I’m not ducking or dodging nobody, never have. But anyone who faces me is going to have to take a test. Period. If you are the best, take the test,? countered Mayweather.

Roger Mayweather, uncle and trainer to the American fighter, told Telegraph Sport: “If the fight goes ahead, Khan will have to take the drugs test. That’s just the way it’s got to be.”

Mayweather, enigmatic and troubled outside the ring, sublime inside it, seemed more intent on talking about Manny Pacquiao, Khan and other issues, than his fight against Victor Ortiz, the World Boxing Council welterweight champion, whom he meets here at the MGM Grand Saturday night.
