MANILA, Philippines ? Boxing icon Manny Pacquiao, a devout Catholic, has donated P100,000.00 to the fund drive to purchase six vehicles for poor dioceses.
The said amount was personally handed over by Pacquiao to his election lawyer Romulo Macalintal ? one of the people behind the said fund campaign ? at Midas Hotel last night where Solar Sports hosted a dinner for the Filipino and his upcoming opponent Juan Manuel Marquez to promote their Nov. 12 fight in Las Vegas.
?Pacquiao?s donation has paved the way for the purchase of four (4) brand new 4×4 vehicles for these dioceses, thereby completing the fund drive with two (2) other vehicles donated earlier by TV host Willie Revillame,? Macalintal said
Macalintal, a know collector of boxing mementos, also took had a photo session with Pacquiao and Marquez, and had acquired a glove autographed by both boxers
?(The photos and the glove) will form part of my collections of Pacquiao?s mementos? Macalintal said.
