Ever since his September 17th clash against Floyd Mayweather was announced, WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz has been looked at as a huge underdog by many in the sport. But despite the 8-1 odds stacked against him, Ortiz has shown nothing but confidence heading into his biggest fight as a professional, set to take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
And despite moving up from the junior welterweight division in his last fight, a stirring performance that saw him floor Andre Berto twice on his way to capturing the WBC crown he now owns, Ortiz has filled out well at 147 pounds. Earlier today a pictured leaked showing just how in shape Ortiz is and sure enough, he is extremely cut with the fight 22 days away.
While some are looking at Ortiz as a springboard to a Mayweather faceoff with Manny Pacquiao next year, the champion is determined to spoil those plans.
